Mr. Reed has been Director of Intellectual Property for the North American operations of a large Japanese manufacturing company.  In this capacity, he was responsible for the prosecution of and litigation involving intellectual property in North America.  He was also responsible for company policies with respect to intellectual property and employee training.

Additionally, he was responsible for trade secret protection and trade secret litigation, especially related to employee movement into and out of the corporate group.
Additionally, he dealt with issues of IP ownership as between the companies within the corporate group and their customers, many of whom were government contractors.
He was counsel of record for a federal court suit against a foreign entity for copyright and trademark infringement arising from its website content.  He obtained a $450,000 judgment in his client’s favor.
He is an arbitrator for domain name dispute under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.
UCC Article 2
Mr. Reed was for ten years General Counsel of a bearing manufacturing company with plants in two states. He gained extensive experience with contracts between the company and raw material suppliers, distributors, and customers, many of whom were aircraft airframe and engine manufacturers, and many of whom were government contractors. 

Employment Law
Mr. Reed has advised his corporate clients on employment law issues throughout his career, including issues involving hiring and firing, wage and hour, sex harassment, American with Disabilities Act, age discrimination, race discrimination, gender discrimination, national origin discrimination, and religious discrimination.  He drafted company policies, conducted employee training, and conducted internal investigations. 

Insurance Coverage
Mr. Reed began his career as an associate in a firm that specialized in coverage work and insurance defense.  Throughout his career his assisted his corporate clients pursue coverage.

Additionally, he has written manuscript coverage clauses.
Additionally, he led a team responsible for an $18,000,000 first party claim arising from the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
Additionally, he has taken the Associate of Risk Management (ARM) 54 course, which is basic risk management.
Personal Injury
Mr. Reed began his career with a firm that specialized in insurance defense and coverage.  As an associate, he was involved numerous cases in a wide variety of areas, including products liability, medical malpractice, auto accidents, and premises liability.

Additionally, he was the primary author of the warning statement that has appeared on many computer keyboards over the past ten years.
